Answer: organization is forming to lobby for the forgiveness of debts. If you are interested in becoming a part of this group, send me an email.
Why would you lobby for forgivness of debt? Why did you borrow the money if you cannot pay it back?
If everyone had this attitude then there would be no loans and no one would be able to attend college.
I think your efforts would be better directed to finding a way to offer loans at very low interest rates so that it’s easier to repay them – especially in the early years of your career. money. I cant speak for the group but I think loan deferrals and or partial forgiveness should be given to those who provide a public service which is not otherwise met. Such as teaching in urban or rural areas for example. Emergency certificates can be given to those with college degrees and training and support provided as in Teach for America. Service organizations such as Americorps give a small living stipend for volunteers along with some money towards school loans at the end of each year of service. I think the dollar amount should be increased for both the living stipend and for the money for loans, as well as I think each high school or college graduate of the US should be obligated to enter some form of service for min one year on graduation. I think that interest should not be added on to loans for those who are actively looking for work. I would prefer subsidy of college loans to paying the amount of money we do to incarcerate our citizens
